Tight muscles can also lead to injury and chronic pain. It is quite common for our chest muscles to be stronger than our back muscles, especially among men. Hunching over a computer all day is also a contributing factor to tight chest muscles. If you are physically exerting your muscles without stretching them on a regular basis then they will lose some of their flexibility.
When you have tight chest muscles and weak back muscles, this tends to pull your shoulders forward, giving you a hunched appearance. This kind of postural problem can cause a lot of problems with your back and shoulders. Therefore, along with your strengthening exercises, it would be beneficial to perform a stretching routine. If any particular muscles feel tight, devote some time specifically to them so that you can start loosening them up.
