Wear a Splint
Using a splint or brace can accelerate the healing process. If your work or daily routine does not allow you to wear a splint all day, even just wearing it at night has proved to be beneficial for many CTS patients. Some people might find it difficult to wear, because it prevents the hand from bending or being held at angles that are hard on CTS. However, studies have proved that splints can alleviate symptoms. The Medical College of Virginia asked 17 patients diagnosed with CTS to wear a splint full-time or just at night for a total of six weeks. After six weeks, the participants in the study noticed that hand functions were regained, nerves began working better, and symptoms were improved. Full-time splint wearers fared slightly better than night-only wearers.
