Australian Race horse Phar Lap races to fame in the 1930s. The movie is shown mostly in “flashback” sequence, since Phar Lap dies at the beginning of the movie after winning the Agua Caliente Handicap in Mexico. The story shows a horse who was going to be sold and forgotten, until a man named Woodcock persists that the horse has a strong blood line and can be taught to race. The movie does a great job at showing the strong relationship that Woodcock and the horse develop. It is basically a movie about friendship, love, and perseverance.
