White Grain Foods
When we buy white bread and white pasta, we are purchasing foods that have been stripped of the bran and germ that the wheat once contained. This food is now lacking many nutrients, as well as fiber.
Consuming refined pastas and breads is known to raise insulin levels, which can lead to weight gain and other health concerns, and is often considered a factor in the development of chronic illnesses. Whole grains are the best choice since they give nutrients that the body requires, improve energy levels, and help you stay healthy. When grocery shopping, look for packaging labels that say “whole grain.” Remember, just because a package says that it contains wheat, and you notice that the bread is brown, it does not mean that it was made with whole grains.
