H.U.R.T. 100 (Hawaii)

hurt-Hawaii-marathon Travel to the Paradise of the Pacific to run in one of the most beautiful and challenging ultra-marathons in the U.S. Taking place in January outside tropical Honolulu, this single-track 100 mile race takes runners up 25,000ft of elevation, past 20 streams, and through rugged jungle terrain. Mosquitoes and thick, jungle vegetation make the course even more difficult (at some points the vegetation is almost impenetrable). Runners are susceptible to injury from tripping over one of the thousands of roots along the course. Also, there are only a few spots on the course where participants are able to run consistently for more than 100 yards at a time. Despite all this, the views and jaw-dropping tropical ranges and landscape should be enough to keep any ultramarathon runner inspired and motivated.
