McLintock!

mclintockMcLintock! is a 1963 comedy directed by Andrew V. McLaglen featuring John Wayne as George Washington “GW” McLintock, the richest cattle baron in the land who is loved my almost everyone. The film also features Maureen O'Hara, Yvonne De Carlo, and Wayne's son, Patrick. The film is loosely based on Shakespeare's, The Taming of the Shrew, and is packed with comical moments and naturalistic acting by “The Duke” himself. The film did extremely well with the audience upon its release and grossed $14,500,000 in North America alone. The film was produced by Wayne’s company Batjac Productions and he also won a Golden Laurel for Top Action Performance in 1964.
