A Chance to Be Peacefully Alone in Your Thoughts
Sometimes when we are running in a crowded park, a gym, a city sidewalk, or a busy urban neighborhood, we tend to be more self-conscious of the way we look. For some people, just the presence of other people can add stress to their everyday run, which is intended to relieve stress, not add stress. This is why running alone, or with a good friend, in nature (where it is quiet and secluded) can be more relaxing and give you time to think and meditate. It’s a chance to drown out all of the stressful aspects of your life and become more mindful of yourself and your surroundings.
