This one takes place in the middle of August on the Cayuga Trails 50 near Ithaca, NY. At 7-miles, it doesn’t really compare to the longer ultra-marathons that we have discussed. However, this single-track course takes runners past glistening waterfalls and shadowing forests. Runners will have to climb up a winding historic stone staircase, but the amazing views of the cascading waterfalls have a way of making them seem like nothing. The course bends around Lucifer’s Falls before requiring a descent to the finish line. This race is part of a 3-day event that includes a Fun Run for kids and plenty of other activities to entertain all ages. Bring the whole family and plan to take a swim in the local swimming hole!
