Finger Extender
Another unique type of hand therapy device is a finger extender. This therapy device isolates the extension of all five fingers and each of the individual finger joints. The finger extender strengthens the muscle groups to maximize the motion of the tendon gliding, increase joint motion, coordination, and muscle function in the fingers, hand, and forearm.
The resistance levels on the finger extender are made from latex-free elastic bands and are easily changed out to higher or lower resistance levels. Hand positions can be varied when using the finger extender, allowing you to do specific exercises designed to prevent injury, as well as provide rehabilitation for arthritis.
Since the design of the finger extender gives each finger its own place to stretch the elastic band, stronger fingers cannot compensate for the weaker fingers. This gives you the ability to develop isolated finger strength, flexibility, and coordination in your weaker fingers.
