The majority of this marathon includes beautiful shoreline scenery and remarkable city sites. 5,000 lucky participants get to run through Queen Elizabeth Park, beaches of the Spanish Banks, Stanley Park, and downtown Vancouver. Altogether, runners get a chance to view 12 different sections of Vancouver. Attractions along the course are constantly being added such as musical entertainment by live bands. 4,000 volunteers keep the BMO Vancouver Marathon running and there are plenty of water stations, med stations, and food services. The award ceremony is held on race day and cash prizes are presented to the top three male and female, full and half marathon runners.
