Mesquite Pro Rodeo Series (Mesquite, Texas)
Starting in June and ending in late August, there’s plenty of time to catch these professional rodeo performers every Friday and Saturday night. These guys don’t mess around. You’re looking at some of the best local rodeo talent in all of Texas. The 10 best performers come back every year to compete at the championship, during the last days of the rodeo. According to the rodeo’s webpage, the rodeo was “Founded in 1958 by Neal Gay as a permanent rodeo (as opposed to many other rodeos that moved from town to town), the rodeo struggled in the early years but grew as the city of Mesquite grew. By 1970, Interstate 635 was constructed, allowing everybody in the Dallas area to be able to easily visit the rodeo.”
