McKenzie River Trail Run (Oregon)
In this 31-mile trek, you will run through a section of the Willamette National Forest, along the McKenzie River. 2 glorious waterfalls and the breathtaking Clear Lake will leave you in awe. This course is somewhat challenging; it includes vertical climbs, hairpin turns, and tricky obstacles like fallen trees and numerous log bridges that get you over small rivers. The course is a single track race, so there is not a large amount of elbow room. Aid stations are placed every 4-6 miles and provide a few options for hydration as well as “typical aid station food.” The run begins at Carmen Reservoir off Hwy 126, near Koosah Falls, and ends at the McKenzie River Ranger Station. Since 1988, this run has been an annual event that hosts around 200 participants. Registration fills up quickly so don’t hesitate on signing up early.
