“Rodeo” by Garth Brooks

Rodeo by Garth Brooks is one of 7 rodeo songs that made our listIf you enjoyed country music in the ‘90s, then more than likely you absolutely loved Garth’s song, “Rodeo”  which was released on his 1991 album Ropin’ the Wind. The song is told through the eyes of the woman who would “give half of Texas” just to keep her man from the rigorous perils of the rodeo life. “Bulls and blood, dust and mud” sings Brooks describing the glamourous (and not-so-glamourous) sides of rodeo performing. The song was written in 1981 and originally titled “Miss Rodeo.” It was written in the view of a woman who could not compete with the sport of rodeo. It took ten years for the song to be adjusted and performed by Brooks. An interesting little fact about this song is that Brooks actually tried to get Trisha Yearwood to sing the original version.
