Other Hydration Tips

hydration tipsMost people find it difficult to run for long periods of time and still keep enough water with them for hydration. However, besides buying a water carrier, there are some other helpful ways to stay hydrated. If you’re simply running around the neighborhood, plan your route where you can circle back to your house on your run, in case you need to hydrate more or take any other needed breaks. Always take advantage of the aid stations and water stations during races, and take the time to even refill your carriers at these stations if you can. It might take a while to discover what kind of water carrier is right for you, so try out a few and see which one you like better. Drinking plenty of water before you run will also help lower water usage while running. If you are hydrated well before your run, you may not even need to carry as much water. Hydrated also means that you have enough electrolytes in your system, so make to drink beverages with electrolytes in them before your run.
