Goldfield, Arizona
The town of Goldfield thrived in the 1890s with the mining industry, but eventually around 1897, the population plummeted after gold mining resources were depleted. The community reached its maximum of about 4000 residents with a general store, hotel, general store, post office, and school. Although the town had a few comebacks in the early 1900s, it was officially abandoned in 1926. This ghost town is one for the whole family and has plenty of activities and attractions available for tourists. To boost the historical setting and atmosphere, the employees dress in costumes from the time period. If you visit this famous ghost town in Arizona, you can explore the Mammoth gold mine, walk down Main Street, visit the historic buildings and shops, witness a reenacted gunfight in the town street, pan for gold, and ride a train.
