Fat Dog 120 (British Columbia, Canada)
There are plenty of reasons to attend this beautiful 120-mile Ultra held in British Columbia. The gorgeous Alpines and unending fields of wildflowers are just a couple of the stunning scenes in Canada that this race has to offer. This 120-mile foot race has been considered one of the toughest Ultras in the world due to its difficult point-to-point trails and serious elevation gain (around 8,700 meters, just a little less than Everest). Runners get to experience the beauty of three provincial parks and one recreational area in British Columbia. The race involves 6 different legs that give runners the ultimate challenge, especially on the last leg where the trail is more like a rollercoaster. Runners have 48 hours to complete the race. To enter, they are required to have previous experience in completing a 100-mile race that is as equally difficult, or must have competed in the Fat Dog 70. For first time runners of this ultra, it is recommended that they have a pacer, if not for all of the race, at least for the last leg.
