Sand Hand
Place your fist in a bucket or container filled with sand (just enough to cover up your entire hand). Start by trying to spread the fingers outward while they are underneath the sand. You can also reverse this exercise and try making a tight fist in the sand. This is a simple strengthening technique that can be a fun exercise while visiting the beach, or you can buy a cheap bag of sand from a home and garden store. You can even heat the sand up in the microwave (make sure to use a microwavable container). The heat will not only feel good but will also increase blood circulation in the hand. Heat on high for no more than 1 minute.
