Low Impact Exercises

low-impact-exercises Here are three great exercises that you can do without putting additional strain on your feet:

Swimming and Water Aerobics:

Being in the water takes a lot of the stress off of joints in the lower body. Moving around in the water also adds resistance, which contributes to strengthening muscles. Water activities are perhaps the best exercise choice as they work out virtually every muscle group in the body and also provide a cardiovascular workout.

Stationary Bike:

The stationary bike offers you a stable place to sit while you focus on pedalling. Since you are sitting and pedalling you aren’t stressing any of the weight bearing joints, and you are still able to get a good leg and cardio work out.

Heavy Rope Training:

You can do heavy rope training from both the standing or sitting position. Using about 50 feet of 1.5-2 inch rope, you get an amazing upper body workout simply from swinging the rope around in waves, spirals, or throws for timed intervals. Aside from the rope you will also need an anchor of some sort. You can use a tree, post, or pole, or even purchase one that can hang from the wall.
