Scott fought in WWI and his skills from the military, such as horse riding experience and handling firearms, aided him in his acting career. Many of Randolph Scott’s best movies were made after he was 58 years old. He died from lung and heart problems in 1987 at his home in Beverly Hills, CA. He passed away as one of the wealthiest and famous Western actors in all of Hollywood. Scott was known for his charming personality, southern drawl, and his role as the “tall, silent type” in most of his saddled-up films.
