The purpose of the heel reliever is to stretch the muscles and tissue that are in the heel. This can help women who wear high heels to relieve foot and heel pain.
There is no special equipment that is needed for this exercise.
How to do the exercise:
- Sit with one leg extended and the other foot against your inner thigh.
- Hook one thumb around your pinky toe and your other thumb around your big toe and wrap your fingers around the sole. (Don't worry, you can bend your knee if necessary)
- Gently squeeze your sole to flex your feet and at the same time press your thumbs away from each other to gently pull your toes apart.
- Hold and massage the sole of your foot for about 30 seconds. Repeat twice
- Exercise the other foot.
This can be carried out daily.
