Walk Without a Slouch

how to improve postureWe’ve all probably been told not to slouch in our chair at one point or another. However, what we often forget is to refrain from slouching while we walk. Most of us can sit up straight (especially in social settings), but some might forget about their posture as they walk. This is something that has to be practiced. Maintaining balance and symmetry, while keeping your back straight, takes time to learn.

The old practice of balancing a book on your head while walking is still a great way to begin. Or, the following steps are also a great way to make sure you start walking with correct posture.

  • Start with your back straight.
  • Stand up against a wall, and then walk 10 paces.

This is helpful because you don’t want to begin your practice with improper posture.
