Tart Cherries (Anthocyanins)
The anthocyanins found in tart cherries are the most anti-inflammatory substance you can find in any fruit or vegetable. Research has shown that tart cherries contain the highest anti-inflammatory content of any food. Tart cherries also contain high amounts of Polyphenols (micronutrients that help prevent degenerative diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases), and they are high in antioxidants. As far as relieving pain, tart cherries are famous for reducing pain for osteoarthritis patients. This capability can also transfer into other areas of joint and muscle pain, which can help reduce or speed up painful inflammation. It sure beats the negative side-effects from acetaminophen and other painkillers, like damage to the liver and kidneys.
