True Grit

true-gritWhen the murder of her father sends young tomboy, Mattie Ross (Kim Darby), to seek revenge for those involved in his death, she requests the assistance of the notoriously tough marshal, "Rooster" Cogburn (John Wayne), claiming that he has "grit" and is known for getting things done. They are joined by a Texas Ranger named La Boeuf (Glen Campbell) who is also looking for the same man (Jeff Corey) who committed another murder in Texas. Their journey leads the group from Fort Smith, Arkansas, through Indian Territory, which is now known as Oklahoma, to find the man responsible and bring him to justice. Although there were many confrontations between the actors on set, the finished movie went down in history as a classic western (and the 2010 re-make was truly a great film, as it received universal praise).
