Tea contains tannins, which help to constrict blood vessels when they are applied to the skin. This constriction stops blood from flowing to the bruises which help get rid of the discoloration that comes along with bruises. Tea bags also help to reduce swelling and pain. To use a tea bag, soak the tea bags in warm water for three minutes. Place the warm tea bag on the affected area and leave it on for several minutes. Do this several times a day.
