Heel Pain
Pain in the heel of the foot is another common issue that women will experience during pregnancy. For pregnant women, the heel pain is usually the result of the added weight that comes with pregnancy. As you gain weight during the pregnancy, your stance begins to change as a way to compensate. This puts added pressure on different areas of the foot, especially the heel area.
Pain to the heel is fairly common and in general, it is nothing that should be cause for worry. With a little bit of rest, the problem should resolve itself in a few days.
If the pain is constant and persistent, then you might want to consult a doctor because it could be a sign of a condition called Plantar Fasciitis. This is an inflammation to the ligament that runs from the heel to the ball of the foot. Rest and ice can be good for providing relief from Plantar Fasciitis. You can also try to switch to more supportive shoes or find shoe inserts that will provide more support.
