The best way to reduce the pain in your feet is by losing weight and taking the stress off the bones and ligaments. When being on your feet causes you pain, it can be hard to lose weight. There are, however, options for weight loss that don’t require you to be out running.
Diet:
Diet is a huge factor in weight loss. Being aware of what you are eating and limiting foods that aren’t healthy is important. Avoid fad diets, and instead, make a lifestyle change. Eat whole wheat breads and pastas, lean cuts of meats, and fruits and veggies. Seeking the advice of a nutritionist is a great way to learn about what foods are best for you and which food you should avoid.
Exercise:
Since your feet are hurting it is not possible to immediately begin physical activity. In the first few weeks or months of losing weight, you will want to stick to low impact exercises. This type of exercise still increases your stamina and builds muscle, but will not put all the stress on your feet and joints.
