Be Aware of Pain or Injury from Sports
As your child gets older and attends school, they are likely to become more active and may play sports, both in and out of school. These activities can lead to pain and injury from overuse or from clashes or accidents that arise during sport. Certain aches and pains from exercise are common and are usually nothing to worry about, but if the problem persists, you may want to seek advice from a health professional in case a more serious problem is at the root of the pain. Children tend to repair and recover faster than adults, so don't let a problem go unchecked for too long.
As your child gets older, particularly into their teenage years, they may be less inclined to share with you when they have a problem or are experiencing discomfort, so it's a good idea to keep an eye out for any limping or other signs of discomfort, or a noticeable drop in activity levels.
