Give Yourself a Break

how to improve your postureHere’s one that affects posture for many people. People who work jobs that require them to sit down for 8 hours a day tend to sit in awkward positions for hours. For most, their bodies are affected and hurt. Maybe they spent money on an ergonomic chair to help improve their posture and decrease back pain while sitting. While this is beneficial and will help, the only real way to fight poor posture from sitting is to take regular breaks to stand up and walk around throughout your day. The human body wasn’t designed to sit for long hours of the day, and no matter how great your posture may be while sitting, you’re going to have to give your body a break from the sitting position.

Some people who work sitting down at a desk all day have even invested in what is called a “standing desk.” This is basically just an elevated, height-adjustable desk that you stand at while working. But the downside to a standing desk is that all of a sudden you go from sitting all the time to standing all the time, which means that it doesn’t solve every problem. Even for those who use a standing desk, you will want to give yourself a break and sit down every now and then.

Either way, staying in one position for long hours will have some influence on your posture.
