Menthol
Menthol comes from the peppermint and other plants, often synthetically constructed into a waxy, clear solution or ointment. Menthol has been used to treat a variety of painful symptoms for many centuries and still continues to prove beneficial today. It is commonly used to alleviate the pain from migraines and everyday headaches. It is a well-known anti-inflammatory, and when applied topically, can reduce pain caused by inflammation. Many people apply menthol to the temple for headaches, sore joints, or tense muscles. Even just the aroma of menthol reduces nausea. Ingesting menthol can also sooth digestion pains and cramping.
