sandals-right-shoesWhat’s not to love about sandals? They’re breathable, lightweight, and fashionable. They are great for vacations, or even wearing them to walk outside to get the mail. However, long term wearing of sandals may lead to painful issues or injuries in the feet, due to their lack of support. Risk of developing plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, and ankle injury is relatively high for the avid flip-flop wearer. There aren’t a lot of options out there for comfortable and supportive sandals, and there isn’t a pair of flip-flops on the market that can give you the ankle support that you need. So your best bet is to simply refrain from wearing this type of shoes for long periods of time. Lowering the frequency and duration of wearing sandals will also lower your risk of developing an injury.
