White River National Forest (Colorado)

White River National Forest (Colorado)The White River National Forest is one of the nation’s most popular places to visit. You have plenty of opportunity to sight-see on horseback among the 2.3 million acres of the park. You can gaze at glorious mountain ranges and view Maroon Lake from 9,000-14,000 ft. The forest itself is full of attractions such as 12 ski-resorts and 8 wilderness areas to visit. Some of the various campgrounds include water and restrooms, as well as close access to the trails. For $25 a night you can use corrals at horse sites in most camping areas and each additional vehicle is only $5 (a great investment when you see the gorgeous the landscape). As the weather here varies, most people believe the best time to go is late Spring or early Fall.
